What is a Roof Condition Certification Form?

As of February 1st, 2009, Citizens request a Roof Condition Certification Form (CIT RCF-1 1108).  Citizens has introduced a new wind-only policy that has new eligibility rules, coverage, and an enhanced policy-processing software system for agents.

What are insurance companies looking for in these reports?

They are generally looking for most systems in the Roof Condition Certification Form (CIT RCF-1 1108) to have been updated to current standards and are in good condition.  Some insurance companies like Citizens have forms that may be used: Citizens Roof Condition Certification Form (CIT RCF-1 1108)

Who can perform this type of inspection?

Usually a Licensed General, Building, Roofing Contractor, – Inspector, Engineer inspection and signature is required to certify homes of a certain age when required by most insurance companies.

Roof Conditions

All roofs must be in good condition with no damage or visible signs of leak to be eligible for coverage. Additionally, all roofs, regardless of age, must have at least three (3) years of remaining useful life.
